JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Jacksonville business owner is using AI to boost her business and help others do the same.
Kathy Keene always knew she was destined to be her own boss.
“I don’t know if there was a specific catalyst that encouraged me to launch into my own business,” Keene said. “I have always been an entrepreneur at heart, even when I was younger. I had multiple jobs; I would work as a contractor for different things in addition to a more resume-building job.”
That drive led Katy to leave her corporate job in business marketing and launch Keene Lane Co., a Jacksonville-based company that helps people find their own identities through technology like AI.
She’s made significant strides a decade into the journey.
“I started with one nonprofit that was a large organization and really wonderful network and community, and then I would get referred to another on,” Keene said. “That really organically grew my brand.”
That growth landed Keene Lane Co. a spot as one of the five U.S. and global Canva agency partners. Canva is an Australian-based software technology that uses AI to create graphic designs for all kinds of platforms.
“That really transpired after I was connecting with Canva and because of our experience and background in using Canva,” Keene said.
Now, Keene and Co. is using this partnership to encourage more businesses to embrace AI and digital tools, specifically empowering women to dive into the tech world.
“I recently became a brand ambassador for SheIsAI which is shaped around empowering women in AI,” Keene said. “Specifically in minorities and underserved communities globally. And that’s incredibly amazing and empowering organization in group and we need more women in tech and AI, we need more woman in innovation.”
