JSO arrests man in connection to 2023 double murder

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office arrested a man in connection to a double murder in November 2023.

JSO said that on Nov. 18, 2023, at around 8:45 p.m., police found Dontre’ris Woods, 21, suffering from gunshot wounds in the roadway in the 3800 block of St. Johns Avenue.

Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department said he died at the scene.

The next day at around noon, Wood’s girlfriend, Kyliah James, 21, was found dead in Clay County by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators determined James was killed in Jacksonville.

Detectives connected Malik Raheem Tafara Lamarcus Johnson, 32, to both murders, and he was arrested on April 4.
