JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville native and UFL Battlehawks player Chris Payton-Jones decided to wear custom cleats in honor of 7-year-old Breon Allen Jr., who was killed in a shooting in January.

In an Instagram video, Payton-Jones showed off the custom cleats that have pictures of Allen and the words “Love you mom” and “Golden Boy,” which was his nickname.

“I can’t wait to wear these,” Payton-Jones said.

He also talked about Allen and how he loved football.

“He didn’t get a chance to live out his dream,” Payton-Jones said.

Allen was killed on Jan. 24 as he was walking out of a home on Commonwealth Avenue with his cousin, Lafayette Mango, and a car pulled up and started shooting.

Six arrests were made in his murder.

On Thursday, two of the six people charged in Allen’s murder pleaded not guilty in court.
