Competition returns Saturday, April 26, to Jacksonville Beach

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – Beaches opening weekend is still weeks away, but it’s not too early to grab your pail and shovel and start practicing for the annual sandcastle contest.

The event will run from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, in Jacksonville Beach. And you still have time to register.

This family-friendly competition invites sand sculptors of all ages and skill levels to showcase their creativity just north of the iconic Jacksonville Beach Pier.

From whimsical castles to elaborate sculptures, participants can win prizes and just enjoy a great day in the sun.

Beaches opening day festivities also include a parade and live entertainment throughout the weekend.

Bring your sunscreen, lawn chairs, and competitive spirit to this free-to-watch event.
