Man charged in deadly stabbing of 30-year-old woman in home off Arlington Expressway

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The same day that a woman was fatally stabbed in the early morning hours in a home on Arlington Expressway near Townsend Boulevard, police arrested the man they believe was responsible.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office announced Monday that Carlos Yordanis Aldana, 38, has been charged with murder in the fatal stabbing of 30-year-old Yannelis De La Caridad Casales Anton.

Police said they were called about 3:20 a.m. Sunday to a report of a stabbing on Arlington Expressway near Townsend Boulevard, and they found Aldana with stab wounds.

JSO said Aldana was quickly identified as the suspect in the stabbing and was taken by paramedics to a hospital to be treated for stab wounds to his left hand and left shin.

When officers searched the home, they found Anton suffering from multiple stab wounds. She died at the scene.

Later on Sunday, after reviewing evidence and interviews, Aldana was arrested on the murder charge.

Police have not said how Aldana and Anton are connected, but they did call it an incident of domestic violence.
