Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital in life-threatening condition after crash near SR-16 in World Golf Village

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – A motorcyclist was airlifted to a hospital Wednesday morning following a crash near State Road 16 in World Golf Village, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.

SJSO, Florida Highway Patrol and St. Johns County Fire Rescue responded to the scene of the crash around 8 a.m. near State Road 16, just before County Road 16A.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist was using the bicycle lane to pass stopped traffic while traveling east on SR-16 and collided with an SUV that was turning left from SR-16 westbound.

According to SJC Fire and Rescue, the motorcyclist, a 37-year-old man from Middleburg, was transported to a hospital in life-threatening condition.
