The deadly shooting was reported around 9:40 p.m. in the Panama Park area on East 46th Street.

Officers responding to a reported shooting found a 25-year-old man with several gunshot wounds. He died at the hospital.

A witness told police they heard two men yelling at each other, then gunshots.

The location of the shooting is considered a “rooming house” and both men lived there “on and off.”

The second shooting overnight happened around 11 p.m. and involved officers who responded after a man called 911 to get help for his wife.

She fired shots at officers when they tried to approach her and six officers shot back.

The third shooting was reported around 2 a.m. Wednesday on Venus Mars Court near UF Health Jacksonville hospital.

Police said that incident began Tuesday when two men got into a fight over a woman. The shooter told the victim he was going to shoot him, then a few hours later, he did.

Police said the man went to a home on Venus Mars Court, knocked on the door and started shooting when the man who answered the door walked out.

That man was shot in the arm and is expected to be OK.

A woman and her children were in the home when the shots were fired. They were not hit.

JSO Sgt. Christopher Smith acknowledged the danger after several shootings overnight.

“Monitor your surroundings and be active on the lookout,” Smith said. “Unfortunately, crime could impact any of us at any time.”

No arrests have been made in the Panama Park or Venus Mars Court shootings. Charges are expected against the woman in the officer-involved shooting.
