Military Appreciation Day at The Players Championship featured a ceremony, concert

The Military Appreciation Day Ceremony took place on the Island Green 17th Hole

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – The world’s top golfers have gathered in Northeast Florida this week for The Players Championship, often referred to as the “fifth major.”

The 51st Players is particularly exciting as it could conclude with a historic first. Scottie Scheffler became the first golfer in tournament history to win The Players in back-to-back years. A threepeat would be even more history for Scheffler. A win by Scheffler would be the first time a golfer won the same tournament three straight years since Steve Sticker won the John Deere Classic in 2009, 2010 and ‘11.

Play begins on Thursday, but Tuesday was dedicated to honoring the military with Military Appreciation Day. Military complimentary tickets are sold out.

Northeast Florida, a city with deep military roots, was the perfect backdrop for this salute to service members.

The Military Appreciation Day Ceremony took place at 4:30 p.m. on the Island Green 17th Hole.
