JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Feeding Northeast Florida is partnering with a local nonprofit to ensure every child is fed while on spring break vacation.
Nearly 90,000 children in our community are uncertain where their next meal will come from. That’s why Feeding Northeast Florida partnered with Women and Family Enrichment Services to put a dent in that number and feed as many children in need over spring break.

Danita Matthews, president of Women and Family Enrichment Services, said the program “Feed Our Scholars” is designed to eliminate school break hunger.
“We’re definitely feeding over 1,000 students and that will equate to about 450 families that will actually be impacted,” Matthews said.
Linda Letson was one of the volunteers during Tuesday’s event.
“I love to give, and this organization for the past five years has been giving to children and families in need,” Letson said.
Susan King, CEO of Feeding Northeast Florida, said the demand for their services has increased exponentially.
“And we anticipate that those demands are going to increase,” King said.
