JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – On Jacksonville’s Northside, Paintball Adventures stands as a lively testament to family tradition and the joy of shared experiences.
Founded in 1989 by Dylan Wiggins' grandfather, the business has become a cornerstone in Jacksonville’s paintball community.

It is not uncommon to see Wiggins and his mother, Melia, suiting up players and making sure everyone is having a good time.
It is a family legacy that started with Melia’s father.
“He started as a player, and he fell in love with the game,” Dylan shared. “Here we are, 36 years later, keeping it going.”
Dylan, now the third-generation owner, reflects on the journey that has seen Paintball Adventures move through eight locations before finding its permanent home.
“We love this spot. It’s kind of tucked away, but we’re five minutes from the airport, five minutes from the River City Marketplace,” he noted.
The location offers a perfect blend of accessibility and seclusion, ideal for families looking to escape the hustle and bustle.
The paintball field is designed to be welcoming to everyone, from seasoned players to newcomers.
“We try to give the best environment for someone who’s never played paintball before,” Dylan explained. “Everybody’s friendly, we make the teams even, and it’s just a good experience. You can bring your family out, your friends, and have a good day of it.”
Noah Baker and his father, Joey, are regulars at Paintball Adventures, drawn by the family-friendly atmosphere.
“Where can you go, what can you do in a family environment like this, to be outside, not in front of the TV or video games or anything like that, and actually have a moment with your kids?” Joey Baker said.
For Joey and Noah, the experience is deeply meaningful.
“This is my dude. This is my everything. The reason I get up in the morning,” Joey said of his son.
The business not only focuses on providing a fun experience but also on teaching newcomers the ropes.
“We’re gonna show you every rule of paintball and give you that fun experience, no pressure,” Dylan assured.
The initial nervousness of first-time players quickly turns into excitement as they get into the game
“By the end of the day, they’re hooked,” he added.
For Dylan, running Paintball Adventures is a dream come true.
“I love paintball more than anything. I’ve been playing since I was 6. I’m 31 now, and you get to play the sport you love, with your best friends,” he said.
The camaraderie and sense of community are palpable, with everyone looking out for each other.
As Dylan and his family continue to run the business, they remain dedicated to providing a space where families can enjoy quality time together.
“It’s important for me to keep that going for younger children of Jacksonville,” Dylan emphasized.
Paintball Adventures is not just a place to play — it’s a place to connect, create memories, and carry on a family legacy.
