JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Three people were found dead in an apparent murder-suicide in a Murray Hill home on Thursday.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office was called to the home on Gilmore Street where a man and two women lived to conduct a welfare check.
When JSO arrived, the three people were found shot to death with one person suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
JSO believed it was a murder-suicide.
The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department responded as well.
News4JAX spoke to neighbors who gave more details about the people living in the home.
They also said one of the victims took care of a disabled woman who also lived in the home and was confined to a wheelchair.
Keith Hayes, who lived across the street, said he was friends with the man who died.
“He told me that he and his wife had been having some arguments and disgruntled situations during the last few weeks,” Hayes said. “The only thing he described is that he thought there was an age difference between the two of them. They were not getting along, and she was working hard and he wasn’t really doing anything and I think it blew up.”
JSO has not confirmed the identities of the people found dead or their relationships with each other. The motive behind the shooting is unclear.
This is an ongoing investigation.
