GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. – Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp suspended a Glynn County Board of Education member on Wednesday after she was indicted on one count of conspiracy to commit laundering late last year.

Kemp signed an executive order to suspend Audrey Gibbons, who was indicted by the United States Attorney for the District of Delaware in November 2024.

According to the executive order, Kemp received a copy of the indictment on Jan. 14. Two weeks later, he appointed members to the Review Commission to determine whether Gibbons’ indictment “related” to and “adversely” affected the administration of the Glynn County Board of Education and whether the rights and interests of the public were also impacted.

On Feb. 14, the Review Commission found that Gibbons’ indictment “does relate to and does adversely affect” the board’s administration, and recommended that Gibbons be suspended from office.

According to the order, Gibbons’ suspension is effective immediately until the case is resolved or until the expiration of her term in office, whichever comes first.
