If the price sounds too good to be true it probably is; this is a warning from local, state and federal officials who see fake NFL merchandise sold every year.
One of the biggest sporting events and celebrations of the year is the Super Bowl, and people spend a lot of money to be there.
NFL merchandise is big business but there are also fake versions of items like fake rings, and officials are warning to make sure you don’t buy anything that isn’t real.
“It looks very real but the prices are not going to be the same,” said Liz Murrill, Louisiana’s Attorney General.
Local, state, and federal officials are warning buyers, whether they’re in New Orleans for the Super Bowl or shopping online.
To find real merchandise you can also go to the NFL website or look for a licensed vendor; and remember, if the price is too low, the chances of the item being fake are high.
