JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – JEA has a new app to make it easier for customers to pay their bills and monitor how much energy they are using at home or at their business.

The app is called “My JEA” and can be downloaded on a smartphone. Users will use their account credentials to log in.

JEA spokesperson Karen McAllister said the app was launched in an effort to simplify things for customers.

“A lot of us are busy on the go during the day,” McAllister said. “We like to use our phones for just about everything. We are always looking for ways to make it easier for our customers to do business with us. Our residential and our commercial customers.”

If customers need help with their bill, there is a tab for different payment options, like an extension or a payment arrangement.

People can also monitor their electricity and water usage. They can see how much they are using every day at their house or business.

Customers can access JEA’s electric or water outage map to quickly see where there are outages around Duval, Nassau, St. Johns and Clay counties, and report any outages.

“So many of us are so busy during the day,” McAllister said. “We turn to our phones for just about everything. Whether it is for music or for paying our bills. It’s just one less step that customers need to make in terms of monitoring their bills that they are paying, but also their usage. And to be able to make better decisions about their energy and water usage at home.”

Even if people opt to not use the app, they can still do all of the things mentioned in this story either online through JEA’s website or in person at the customer solutions center at JEA headquarters on North Pearl Street in downtown Jacksonville.
