JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Authors showed off their work at James Weldon Johnson Park at the Urban Book Festival on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Organizers said the purpose of the event is to inspire writers to come together and sell and market their books to an audience.
Patsy Robinson, an author, talked about how the event impacted her.
“I discovered a whole new world of publishing, the world of writing that I never knew existed even though I’ve read hundreds of books,” Robinson said.
This was the second year for the event and organizers said they plan to continue putting on the event on the Saturday following Martin Luther King Day.
