JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The first-ever Jacksonville Mural Festival brought color, creativity, and community to the expanding Rail Yard District on Saturday.

From noon to 4 p.m., visitors explored bold new murals created by a talented lineup of artists from across the country and right here in Jacksonville.

The National Mural Awards invited nationally recognized muralists to the First Coast to paint alongside local artists during the event.

Featured artists included Emma Gilbert of Birmingham (@emmagilbertart), Kristen Sandlin from Memphis (@rogue.murals), Phil Seth from Pittsburgh (@philsethcreative), and Zulu Painter of St. Petersburg (@zulupainter1). Local artists Scotie Cousin (@scotiecousin) and Ally Brody (@ally_brody) also contributed to the transformation of the district’s walls with their unique styles.

Attendees were treated to the unveiling of the finished murals and had the opportunity to meet the artists behind the masterpieces.

A panel discussion held at Fogle Art Consulting provided insight into the artists’ processes and the significance of public art in urban spaces.

River City Plus: The 1st ever Jacksonville Mural Festival

For those looking to explore even more, Art Bikes Jax hosted a guided mural tour at 2 p.m., giving participants a closer look at the vibrant artwork scattered throughout the district.

The festival not only celebrated art but also highlighted the Rail Yard District as a growing cultural hub in Jacksonville.

With each mural telling its own story, the event left attendees inspired and eager to see how the district continues to evolve.
