JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Hamburger Mary’s Jacksonville is preparing to welcome back guests to its well-known restaurant and entertainment venue under new management and location in February.
In Oct. 2023, the former Hamburger Mary’s location on Beach Boulevard had to close after an electrical fire that caused significant damage to the building. The business was forced to shut down and is now reopening on a different side of Jacksonville.
Through a post on social media, the restaurant—which focuses on creating a safe and inclusive environment for community members to come together under one roof to celebrate great drag performances, food and friendship—announced its soft opening will be held on Feb. 14.
The restaurant, now located on Edgewood Avenue in Murray Hill, announced that its soft launch will feature full shows, events, and a focus on creating memorable experiences.

“The moment we have all been waiting for!!!” the post said. “Please take note- this is our soft opening. We will be open for business running all shows and events and focusing on all things that matter.”
The post stated that its official grand opening will be held later in April.
Tickets for the soft opening weekend are set to go on sale next week, according to the post.

The opening of Hamburger Mary’s Jacksonville comes as President Trump curtails protections around diversity and LGBTQIA+ rights.
On Monday, Inauguration Day, Trump ordered that the United States will recognize only two sexes, male and female, that are unchangeable. He also repealed 78 executive orders signed by Joe Biden, including at least a dozen measures supporting racial equity and combating discrimination against gay and transgender people, according to Reuters.
