3 hospitalized after fire breaks out at vacant home in Northwest Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Three people were transported to a hospital in serious condition Thursday morning after a fire broke out in a vacant Northwest Jacksonville home, according to the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department (JFRD).

The fire was first reported around 11 a.m. at a home on West 7th Street, JFRD said.

The three individuals were in different rooms when the fire broke out, first responders told News4JAX.

The individuals, who all suffered from smoke inhalation, were transported to UF Health, according to JFRD.

The Bureau of Fire, Arson, and Explosives Investigations was investigating the cause of the fire.
