City of Jacksonville Warming Centers remain open through winter storm

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The City of Jacksonville is keeping its Warming Centers open through the winter storm.

The Jacksonville public libraries are closed on Wednesday for the safety of the employees, but the Legends Center will remain open through 9 a.m. on Thursday.

The other Warming Centers will be open along the following schedule for the remainder of the week:

Daytime (Wednesday through 9 p.m.) and Overnight (Wednesday-Friday, 9 p.m.- 9 a.m.)

Citizens are asked to stay off the roads for their own safety and the safety of first responders who are impacted by hazardous road conditions.

The Main Street, Mathews, and Hart bridges have all reopened.

630-CITY: The call center will be staffed until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22. Citizens should continue to report any icy road conditions or downed powerlines they encounter by calling 904-630-CITY (2469).

JTA: Bus and Ferry service is now fully operational on Wednesday, January 22. Buses have detours around bridges so that routes are not impacted. Due to freezing rain and below-freezing temperatures, the Skyway will start at 11 a.m., as long as it remains safe to do so. JTA will continue to provide free transportation to the City’s Warming Centers. Any service operation announcements will be made on their social media channels.

JAA: Jacksonville International Airport will reopen at 12 p.m. on Wednesday. Travelers should check with their airline on flight status.
