Officials urge residents to stay off the road starting Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning because icy roadways will cause dangerous conditions.

“Because we don’t see this often, I want you to take this seriously,” Emergency Management Director Timothy Devin said.

The Florida Highway Patrol will be monitoring bridge safety conditions for major bridges like the Shands and Buckman bridges.

Trash collection is canceled on Wednesday as well. Wednesday collection routes will be picked up on Thursday, and Thursday routes will be picked up on Friday.
