JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – Hundreds opted to start 2025 with a splash Wednesday morning at the annual Jacksonville Beach Polar Plunge.
The city of Jacksonville Beach and TriMadness Endurance Club invited those who wanted to dive into the new year to meet on the beach by the lifeguard station and Joe’s Crab Shack.
Organizers said that easily over 1,000 people gathered to take the morning dip in the Atlantic Ocean.
The Weather Authority meteorologist Mark Collins said the morning temps in the water would be about 61 degrees -- with air temps in the 40s and 50s.
