JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man in his 30s is dead and three people are being questioned after a shooting early Tuesday morning in Northwest Jacksonville, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
According to Sergeant Lloyd of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit, the deadly shooting occurred around 2:30 a.m. in Jacksonville’s Grand Park area at a residence on Division Street.
Officers were called to a home where they found a man lying in the driveway with a gunshot wound to the chest. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
JSO officers detained three individuals who are being questioned in connection with the incident. However, authorities are still piecing together the details and determining the relationships or circumstances that may have led to the shooting.
The specific details of what led to the shooting, including whether there was an argument or altercation beforehand, are yet to be established.
“The circumstances and relationships of those involved are currently unknown,” Sergeant Lloyd stated during a briefing. “This investigation is pending classification.”
A weapon has not yet been recovered as investigators await a search warrant.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released, and investigators are urging anyone with information to come forward.
