SJSO finds ‘nothing suspicious’ after bomb threat causes evacuation of Publix, nearby businesses in Sawgrass Village

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office said it investigated a bomb threat directed toward a Publix at Sawgrass Village Monday morning.

Around noon, the sheriff’s office said Publix and surrounding businesses in the area were evacuated while its bomb squad and explosive detection K9s continued the investigation.

Just before 2:15 p.m., SJSO said nothing suspicious was located and that Publix and other affected businesses were reopened.

"Thank you to Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Explosive Detection K9s for their assistance," the agency said.
