17-year-old charged with murder after deadly shooting of 21-year-old in Camden County

ST. MARYS, Fla. – A 17-year-old was charged with murder after the deadly shooting of a 21-year-old in Camden County.

The St. Marys Police Department said officers were sent to the Cumberland Oaks Apartment Complex in response to a shooting on Nov. 16 at 9:17 p.m.

Police found 21-year-old Lancine Bakary Soumahoro on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound and he was transported to a nearby hospital where he died.

Officials said 17-year-old Domonja Mitchell was shot in the arm and was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said Mitchell was also responsible for the shooting death of Soumahoro and was arrested in Jacksonville on Tuesday and charged with felony murder and aggravated assault.

Mitchell is in the Duval County Jail awaiting extradition to Georgia.
