At one voting location in Camden County, wait times were about 15 minutes.

“I didn’t wait that long at all maybe 20 minutes which was a lot faster than I expected because there was a long line,” Crystal said. “I wanted to get it out of the way, my mind was already made up so I just figured I would do it now and vote.”

Local politicians campaign to get voters' attention before going to the polls.

Nationwide politics have been at the forefront of voters' minds as well. Georgia, Arizona, Nevada, Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina are swing states.

Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris have been campaigning relentlessly because these states can heavily influence who becomes the next president of the United States.

Bianca Desilets said voting brings a sense of pride and action.

“I believe desire to see a change in this country and they are taking a step forward to do what they can,” Desilets said.

Mike and Sandy Lillis have seen many presidents come and go over the decades, but that doesn’t change the importance of getting out to vote.

“I was excited because I think going to be a big change in our government whichever way it goes,” Sandy said.

Whichever way it goes on Tuesday, Nov. 5, these voters know their votes have been heard.
