Woman shot, killed near Hogan’s Creek area

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A woman was killed in a shooting near the Hogan’s Creek area Friday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Around 11:50 p.m., police responded to Kings Road, near North Davis Street, after receiving reports of a person who had been shot.

According to JSO, the woman had been shot somewhere else and stopped at that location to ask for help. She was then transported to a local hospital where she died.

Two witnesses have been detained for questioning, police said.

Police said they haven’t determined the circumstances of the incident or the relationship of those involved.

“At this time, we do believe that this is an isolated incident and there is no additional threat to the community,” JSO said.
