PALATKA, Fla. – Putnam County deputies recovered a body in a creek in an unincorporated area of Palatka after a motorist stopped in the area to take wildlife photos.
The body was found in the area of State Road 19 south of Caravelle Farms Road.

The medical examiner identified the deceased as an elderly woman.
The cause of death is undetermined.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said it is an active investigation and will release more information as it becomes available.
