‘Rockin’ for a Reason’: A concert to benefit survivors of the Lynyrd Skynyrd plane crash

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Jacksonville rock concert, ‘Rockin’ for a Reason’, is coming up next weekend, and it’s for a cause related to Lynyrd Skynyrd. Slickson Revolver, Street Preacher, and 20 local Southern rock legends including Derik Hess, will perform Saturday night, July 29, from 8 p.m. until 11 p.m. at the Maxwell Snyder Armory at 9900 Normandy Boulevard.

Proceeds will benefit the survivors of the Lynyrd Skynyrd plane crash in a Mississippi swamp in October, 1977. Six people died, 20 were injured and many of them severely. Organizers say some of those survivors are still dealing with health problems related to those long ago injuries.
