3rd arrest made in connection to man who was strangled & shot in Riverside home

Serena Dent, 25, charged with accessory after the fact

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police say a third arrest has been made in connection to the murder of a man in Riverside, who investigators said was strangled, shot and robbed inside his home last August.

Serena Dent, 25, was taken into custody in Texas and was extradited to Florida. She’s been charged with accessory after the fact.

Ricoh Stinson and Cameron Stewart were arrested on second-degree murder charges in November in the death of Steven Lindsay, 73.

Jenny Schwartz, his daughter, said she feels a sense of relief knowing there have been three arrests.

“I’m also extremely angry — just to put a face and a name to that anger,” Schwartz said.

In August, police said Lindsay was found left for dead inside his Riverside home.

His house was ransacked, with items including his cellphone, checkbook and Honda Accord missing.

Schwartz can’t understand why anyone would do this to her father.

“He really enjoyed bringing out the best in people and making other people happy,” Schwartz said. “He was a really, really generous person.”

An arrest report states surveillance video captured Stinson and Stewart going into Lindsay’s home.

Police say Dent was later seen going inside, before all three walked out with a suitcase, taking off in the Honda.

“You left an elderly man to die,” Schwartz said. “We have video of her helping loot the house, taking things out of the house and then she went on her way.”

Detectives obtained Dent’s cellphone data, which showed pings at Lindsay’s home at the time of the murder.

Her arrest report says police met with Dent’s sister, who immediately identified Dent as one of the people in the surveillance footage.

“You don’t really heal from this kind of grief,” Schwartz said. “You just have to learn how to live with it.”

Dent was ordered held on a $500,000 bond. She’s due for arraignment on Feb. 7.
