Camden County deputies shut down fentanyl house in ‘typically quiet’ Kingsland subdivision

Nine people were arrested

CAMDEN COUNTY, Ga. – Law enforcement officials shut down an alleged fentanyl trafficking operation in a Kingsland residential neighborhood, arresting nine suspects on multiple drug charges following community complaints and surveillance operations.

The Camden County Sheriff’s Office, leading a joint task force, executed a raid on a home in the Underwood Plantation subdivision near Highway 17 on Edwards Drive.

All nine suspects face charges of trafficking fentanyl with intent to distribute, along with possession of LSD and a mixture of fentanyl and oxycodone, according to law enforcement officials.

Residents of the typically quiet subdivision, home to numerous young families, reported suspicious activities that included frequent late-night traffic and individuals appearing intoxicated walking to and from the property.

“Every couple of months, there is an ambulance outside for an overdose at that house,” said one neighbor, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to safety concerns.

The CCSO initiated surveillance after receiving multiple tips from concerned residents. Investigators documented consistent stop-and-go traffic patterns typical of drug distribution operations before executing the raid.

Sheriff Kevin Chaney praised the collaborative effort.

“This is just another example of how the law enforcement agencies working together through JCAT are removing dangerous drugs from our community,” he said.

Another neighbor, who works in healthcare, noted telltale signs of drug activity.

“I work in a hospital, so you kind of see that in a lot of drug addicts that come through. Just the way they look and the way they move,” the resident said.

Residents expressed relief following the arrests. “We’re so grateful. Thank you for all your hard work,” a neighbor said. “I’m sure it took a little bit of time to get all the evidence they needed to do something, but we’re just so grateful.”

Authorities did not immediately release the exact quantities of drugs seized during the raid. The investigation is ongoing.
