VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office announced dozens of arrests of a biker gang in “Operation Mongolian Beef” on Wednesday.

Officials said 28 members of the Mongols motorcycle gang were arrested, and warrants have been issued for three additional gang members.
The major statewide investigation began with a shootout between rival gangs at a New Smyrna Beach gas station during Bike Week on March 8.
All have been charged with aggravated rioting related to the incident. It is a second-degree felony and punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
Officials said there were also 14 search warrants executed Wednesday morning, including at the Mongold Clubhouse in Edgewater, four homes in Volusia County, three homes in Brevard County, two homes in Miami-Dade County, one home in Chesterfield County, VA, one home in Palm Beach County, and two homes in Polk County.
