Economist explains how Fed hopes to get interest rate recipe ‘just right’

Despite mounting pressure from President Donald Trump, the Fed kept interest rates steady.

It wasn’t really a surprise, though there was some intrigue going into this week’s meeting because not everybody on the Federal Reserve Board was on board with Jerome Powell.

Everybody wants a “Goldilocks economy” -- not too hot, not too cold.
