How nutrition can affect your risk of developing cancer

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A multitude of research suggests a person’s diet can affect their risk of cancer, particularly gastrointestinal cancers.

March is National Nutrition Month and National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.

Dr. Scot Ackerman, a radiation oncologist and the chief medical director at Ackerman Cancer Center, joined us on The Morning Show to discuss the critical role nutrition plays in cancer prevention.

Ackerman said there are foods we should be adding to our diets -- and foods we should be avoiding.

And we can make healthy lifestyle choices daily to keep cancer at bay.
