SAINT AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Dispatch is hitting the road this summer—and kicking off their tour with a high-energy show in a place that’s become a favorite stop: the St. Augustine Amphitheatre.
The indie/roots rock band will open the first leg of their tour on June 3 alongside a powerhouse lineup of longtime friends and fellow artists like John Butler, G. Love & Special Sauce, and Donovan Frankenreiter. The run continues through Aug. 8, coinciding with the release of Dispatch’s ninth studio album, Yellow Jacket.
“We’re really stoked to get to kick off the tour in St. Augustine,” said band member Bradley Corrigan. “We’ve played there three or four times, and the energy that comes from that space is memorable. There’s some extra heightened singing, volume, energy—just vibe in that space.”
Corrigan says the tour is more of a collaborative experience than four individual sets.
“It’s going to feel like one show instead of four,” he said. “We’ve wanted to play with John Butler for years. It finally lined up. G. Love and Donovan are dear friends—it just feels like a great weave of all four acts sitting in, singing together.”
The band is also celebrating the release of Yellow Jacket, a project Corrigan describes as “a little more of a throwback.” He says the album taps into the band’s early reggae and ska influences while also layering in blues rock, folk, and cinematic instrumentals.
“It’s an eclectic record, but I think it hits on all of our favorite influences,” Corrigan said. “It’s fun to have a record where we could collaborate with a lot of different folks—brings some extra energy to it.”
Despite decades on the road and nine studio albums, Corrigan says what excites the band hasn’t changed: “It’s the art. Just believing, hoping, reaching for better songs—and a genuine joy in making music together.”
Looking back, he says one of the most defining moments for Dispatch came just weeks after 9/11, when they played for 3,000 people in New York City’s Roseland Ballroom.
“There was this kind of collective release of energy. I’ll never forget it,” he said.
Now, two decades later, Dispatch is still chasing that same connection.
“We can’t wait to see you,” Corrigan added. “Let’s get loud and get sweaty.”
