This August 26, dog lovers worldwide will unite to celebrate National Dog Day🐕, a day dedicated to the joy and loyalty these animals bring into our lives. Founded in 2004 by animal advocate Colleen Paige, the day underscores the importance of adopting dogs from shelters and honoring their invaluable roles as pets, service animals, and more🎉.
Adding to the excitement, News4JAX is hosting a special National Dog Day contest for its Insiders. Participants are invited to share their best dog photos📸 or videos📹 on the SnapJAX “Precious Pets” channel. This contest offers a fun way to showcase your pet and engage with the community while celebrating the day. The submission with the most combined likes and comments at the end of the day will win exclusive WJXT merchandise plus a $50.00 gift card for pet supplies 🎁, and your photo might even appear on our broadcast and/or social media. The winner will be announced during “The Morning Show” on Wednesday 8/28/2024.
Beyond the contest, National Dog Day also serves as a reminder of the many dogs in shelters waiting for loving homes💖. Whether you choose to adopt, volunteer, or simply spread awareness, this day highlights the importance of supporting animal welfare efforts.
As National Dog Day arrives, be sure to join the festivities, share your dog’s best moments, and maybe even win some prizes while honoring the special bond between humans and their canine companions.
