And the organization is launching a new outlet for student artists: the Deck the Bins contest.

Deck the Bins (Deck The Chairs)

The contest launched on March 31 and runs through May 16.

It’s an opportunity for students across the First Coast to design artwork to wrap the wooden trash bins located throughout Jacksonville Beach.

Deck the Bins marks a big step in the organization’s expansion to year-long programming, building on its holiday tradition to better support its mission of promoting, supporting, and advocating for student participation in the art field.

The contest is in collaboration with the City of Jacksonville Beach, as well as Beaches Go Green and Waste Pro, to enhance environmental awareness while promoting student art.

Students ages 8 to 18 are encouraged to participate, and 36 winners each receive $100 and the opportunity to have their art displayed on a wooden trash bin.
