JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Tonight will be partly cloudy and warm with temperatures in the 70s.
Monday will feature a partly to mostly cloudy sky with highs in the mid to upper 80s.
Make sure to keep an eye to the sky and storms could develop rapidly. Activity will eventually dissipate later in the evening.
An area of low pressure will develop offshore early this week. This will strengthen as it pushes to the north away from our area. At the same time, high pressure will build in to our north.
Due to the low and high being positioned close to one another, this will lead to breezy conditions Wednesday through the upcoming weekend. Coastal hazards are likely to include a high risk for rip currents, rough surf and coastal flooding.
This system will also usher in cooler and drier conditions to our region later this week. Lows will drop into the 60s later this week and weekend with highs in the 80s. The humidity will drop during this timeframe as well.
Regarding the drought, the latest drought monitor reflects substantial improvement across our area. Several areas have been downgraded to abnormally dry which reflects the rainfall we saw over the past week.
While we are still in a deficit, rainfall will once again lead to more improvement in the next outlook.
