A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for northeast Florida and southeast Georgia through 10 p.m. The Weather Alert Day continues as a cold front moves across southeast Georgia, bringing a chance of strong to severe thunderstorms through late tonight.
A Heat Advisory and an Extreme Heat Warning continue through 8 p.m. Dangerously hot and humid weather with Heat Indices up to 115 degrees.

So far today, the activity along the front has been quiet. As the front moves south strong to isolated severe storms will be possible, starting around 4 - 5 p.m. The storms will arrive near the State line and I-10 around 7 - 8 p.m. Showers with thunderstorms will be possible through early Thursday morning. The main hazards will be damaging wind, possible flooding due to heavy rainfall and frequent lightning. The potential for strong or damaging wind gusts is 5 to 15 percent.
The unsettled pattern continues Thursday afternoon with wind and flooding remaining as the main hazards. Rounds of showers and thunderstorms will develop daily through Sunday as temperatures return to near normal.
Tonight: Extreme Heat and Heat Advisory through 8 p.m. Increasing chance of showers and thunderstorms, some strong to isolated severe.
Thursday: A Heat Advisory will be possible. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop along the stalled cold front, mainly across northeast Florida.. Strong to severe storms will be possible. Lows in the upper 70s to low 80s. Afternoon highs in the mid to upper 90s. Feels Like temperatures 104 - 110 degrees.
Friday: Becoming cloudy and hazy with scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly across NE FL, 50-60 percent. Southeast Georgia will see partly cloudy skies with a 30 percent chance of showers. Lows in the 70s to low 80s. Highs in the low to mid 90s.
Looking ahead: Rain chances continue through the weekend. The heat will return to near normal as the waves of showers and storms move through.
