JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Storm coverage will be a factor from around 2-9pm today. Threats will be wind gusts locally heavy rain and lightning. We are under a Level 1 Marginal Risk for strong to severe storms. Temperatures will be in the low to mid 90s. Feels likes will be in the hundreds.

Rain coverage will be more widespread early next week.

The disturbance that has a 80% chance for development will eventually push away from the region early next week. The highest rainfall totals will be west of I-75. Regardless, sea breeze interaction will keep showers and storms in the forecast early next week.

Highs early next week will be in the low 90s.

Regarding the drought, the latest drought monitor reflects improvement across our area. Several areas have been downgraded to a moderate and severe drought which reflects the rainfall we saw over the past week.

While we are still in a deficit, rainfall will once again lead to more improvement in the next outlook.
