Sensing a pattern? Highs in the 90s with scattered afternoon thunderstorms

Good morning, Jacksonville! It’s a warm and muggy start to the day, with temperatures in the mid-70s and a few patches of low clouds to begin the morning commute.

As we head through the day, we’ll see plenty of sunshine mixing with some fair-weather clouds, helping temperatures climb into the lower 90s this afternoon.

When you factor in the humidity, it’ll feel more like the upper 90s, so be sure to stay hydrated if you’ll be spending time outside.

Most of the day will stay dry, but as we get into the afternoon and early evening, scattered showers and thunderstorms will begin to pop up.

Not everyone will see rain, but any storm that develops could bring heavy downpours, frequent lightning, and gusty winds before quickly moving along.

If you’re heading to the beach, expect a hot day with an onshore breeze, but remember to keep an eye on the sky later this afternoon.

Overall, it’s another typical Northeast Florida summer day—hot, humid, and ending with a chance for a few thunderstorms.
