ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – A St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office corrections sergeant has been arrested and terminated following a criminal investigation launched last week.
The Sheriff’s office tells News4JAX on July 23, information came forward to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office regarding a sworn employee, prompting a criminal investigation by the agency’s Special Victims Unit.

The following day, SJCSO says Sgt. Michael Clark, of the corrections division, was issued a temporary injunction for protection and placed on emergency suspension pending the legal process.
The Sheriff’s Office says Clark was arrested July 25, after authorities reported he violated the injunction. The SJSO Special Victims Unit took Clark into custody, and he was booked into the SJSO Detention Center before being transferred to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. Clark has since bonded out with GPS monitoring.
The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office says it has terminated Clark following the alleged criminal act.
Officials say no further details will be released, citing the sensitive and active nature of the investigation.
