First spot to watch for tropical activity in the Atlantic Basin pops up in the Bay of Campeche

Per the National Hurricane Center: As of 8 a.m. this morning, a broad area of low pressure could form over the Bay of Campeche late this week.

Conditions are not expected to be favorable for significant development, and the system should move inland over Eastern Mexico later this weekend.

There’s a 10% chance of development over the next seven days.

Meanwhile, the National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical Storm Cristina, located just south of El Salvador. Tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the next 7 days.
