JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The rest of the day will feature a partly to mostly cloudy sky with temperatures in the 80s.
Tonight will be mostly clear and mild with temperatures in the 60s and 70s.
The rest of the weekend will feature more of the same. High pressure will remain in control, which means we will be dry and warm. Highs in the afternoon will be in the 80s along the coast, 90s inland.
The rip current risk is elevated as well. Make sure to exercise caution if you will be in the water.
High pressure will be overhead on Monday, which will keep our region dry with highs in the low 90s.
Another front will approach from the north on Tuesday. With a slight uptick in moisture and the boundary nearby, an isolated shower or storm will be possible. Activity will not be widespread. Highs on Tuesday will be near 90 degrees.
An onshore flow will keep the chance for an isolated shower or storm in the forecast on Wednesday and it will be more humid. Temperatures will be near 90 degrees in the afternoon.
Tropical moisture will filter back into the region later this week, which can be shown by the deep red over our area.
This means humidity will increase along with the coverage of showers and storms, especially Thursday into the upcoming weekend. High temperatures for the most part will be in the 80s to near 90 degrees.
Regarding the drought, the latest drought monitor reflects some improvement across our area. Most of our area remains in an extreme drought, but several areas have been downgraded to a severe drought.
