Two school bus crashes on Zoo Parkway in less than a week — both near railroad tracks — have Duval County families voicing concerns.

Just a week shy of a bus crash that injured four kindergarten students along Zoo Parkway, Duval County Public Schools said another school bus that was leaving the Jacksonville Zoo and Botanical Gardens on Wednesday was involved in a “minor” crash.

The 37-year-old semi-truck driver who rear-ended a school bus carrying kindergarteners on a field trip last week was cited for careless driving in the crash, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office records show.

Three students were injured in a Monday afternoon school bus crash in Columbia County.

A program is working to make school buses safer for kids following several recent accidents in Jacksonville.

The crash occurred near Pine Ridge Parkway in Oakleaf.
