Hot again: 2020 sets yet another global temperature record

Japanโs weather agency put 2020 as warmer than 2016, but a separate calculation by Japanese scientists put 2020 as a close third behind 2016 and 2019. Earth has now warmed 1.2 degrees Celsius (2.2 degrees Fahrenheit) since pre-industrial times and is adding another 0.2 degrees Celsius (0.36 Fahrenheit) a decade. Schmidt said fewer cooling aerosols could be responsible for .09 to .18 degrees (.05 to .1 degrees Celsius) warming for the year.

Justin Bieber, UK health workers team up for charity song
LONDON โ Justin Bieber has teamed up with a choir of London medical staff to record a special charity Christmas single. The choir gained fame when it vied with Bieber in 2015 for the Christmas No. Bieber urged his millions of fans on Twitter to support the choir, not him, and it eventually won the top spot on the singles chart. The star then travelled to London and presented them with their charity award. โItโs great to be reunited with the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS choir, as we share a fun bit of U.K. chart history together,โ said Bieber, 26.
High court to decide whether Nazi art case stays in US court
โHe was very, very proud to have acquired the Guelph Treasure, and then was forced to sell it to the Nazis,โ she told him. It's a pursuit that has now landed him at the Supreme Court, in a case to be argued Monday. Germany and the foundation asked the trial-level court to dismiss the suit, but the court declined. โOur view is that Germany is the proper jurisdiction for a case which involves a sale of a collection of medieval German art by German art dealers to a German state,โ Parzinger said. The suit's claim that the Guelph Treasure was sold under Nazi pressure was also diligently investigated in Germany, he said.

Along with the album is the Netflix documentary called โShawn Mendes: In Wonder,โ which is available for streaming and follows Mendesโ rise and journey over the last few years. โ Christmas came early when Carrie Underwood released her first holiday album in September, and on Thursday sheโll debut a musical TV special to accompany the album.

He said music from his fifth studio album โChangesโ was wrongly viewed as a pop album, rather than an R&B project. โI set out to make an R&B album,โ he wrote on Instagram. It is not being acknowledged as an R&B album, which is very strange to me.โBieber was nominated in the categories for best pop solo performance, best pop duo/group performance, best pop vocal album and best country duo/group performance. The singer said he loves pop music, but he wants to be respected for his work. โI grew up admiring R&B music and wished to make a project that would embody that sound,โ he said.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. โ Ashley McBryde, Dan + Shay, Kelsea Ballerini, Luke Combs, Sam Hunt and Thomas Rhett top the 2020 CMT Music Awards nominations with three each. In nominations announced Wednesday for the pandemic-delayed show, 14 videos are vying for the top prize of video of the year. The fan-voted show will air on CMT and other networks on Oct. 21 with outdoor performances. The Highwomen, a group made up of Maren Morris, Brandi Carlile, Natalie Hemby and Amanda Shires, also got their first nomination for group video. Electronic producer and DJ Marshmello also earned a nomination in collaborative video for the crossover hit โOne Thing Right" with Kane Brown.
Carrie Underwood, Thomas Rhett tie for top prize at ACMs
Underwood and Rhett seemed equally taken aback after host Keith Urban announced the tie at the awards show held at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee, on Wednesday. โKeith, what is happening right now?โ Rhett asked, astounded, before thanking his family. There was a lot of anticipation for the show, which featured Taylor Swift making her first appearance at the ACMs in seven years.
