SpaceX launches Falcon 9 with 49 Starlink satellites from Vandenberg
SpaceX is targeting 11:15 a.m. Tuesday for a Falcon 9 launch of 49 Starlink satellites and D-Orbitโs ION SCV009 Eclectic Elena to low-Earth orbit from Space Launch Complex 4 East (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.
Rocket debris lights up skies over the Pacific Northwest
In this image taken from video provided by Roman Puzhlyakov, debris from a SpaceX rocket lights up the sky behind clouds over Vancouver, Wash. Thursday evening, March 25, 2021. The remnants of the second stage of the Falcon 9 rocket left comet-like trails as they burned up upon re-entry in the Earth's atmosphere according to a tweet from the National Weather Service. SEATTLE โ Burning debris from a rocket lit up Pacific Northwest skies Thursday night, the National Weather Service in Seattle said. The rocket delivered Starlink satellites, built in Redmond, Washington, into orbit earlier this week, the Times reported. SpaceX said Wednesday that the Falcon 9โs first stage returned to Earth and landed as planned on its ocean-going barge off the coast of Florida.

SpaceX successfully launches ridesharing mission off Florida coast
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. โ After scrubbing its launch attempt Saturday, SpaceX successfully launched its Falcon 9 rocket off the Florida coast on Sunday. The payload consists of satellites from several customers, including DARPA, NASA and more of its own Starlink satellites. The mission, known as Transporter-1, also includes a somewhat last-minute addition of 10 Starlink satellites, after receiving Federal Communications Commission approval earlier this month to include those. Earlier in the week, another Falcon 9 launched 60 Starlink internet-beaming satellites from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. There were nearly 1,000 Starlink satellites already in orbit.
SpaceX launches last rocket of 2020 from Kennedy Space Center
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. โ SpaceXโs last launch of 2020 went off without a hitch Saturday morning from Floridaโs Space Coast. A Falcon 9 rocket blasted off from Kennedy Space Center at 9 a.m., sending a secret spy satellite owned by the National Reconnaissance Office into orbit. A few minutes after launching the NROL-108 mission, SpaceX successfully landed Falcon 9โฒs 162-foot first stage booster at Landing Zone 1 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. Triple sonic boomsAfter liftoff, Falcon 9โฒs 162-foot first-stage booster will separate from the second stage, then start its descent back toward Florida. Its target: Landing Zone 1 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, which is about 9 miles south of pad 39A.
Europe, US 'climate guardian' satellite to monitor oceans
In this Nov. 3, 2020 photo, provide by the European Space Agency, the Sentinel-6 satellite is placed inside the upper stage of a Falcon 9 rocket. The joint European-U.S. satellite mission to improve measurements of sea level rise is being launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California on Saturday Nov. 22, 2020. โThis is an extremely important parameter for climate monitoring,โ said Josef Aschbacher, the European Space Agency's director of Earth observation. The European Space Agency this week lamented the loss of two satellites when a European-built carrier rocket veered off course shortly after launch. โWe owe him a lot and he more than deserves to have this satellite named after him,โ said Aschbacher.
4 astronauts successfully launched into space from Cape Canaveral
A Falcon 9 rocket carrying four astronauts successfully launched into the night sky on Sunday evening from Cape Canaveral, as thousands of onlookers to the space coast saw the rocket blow through the atmosphere en route to the International Space Station. This is the second manned launch on the space coast after a nine-year gap for manned space exploration from Florida. The space coast has been revitalized since June when NASA and SpaceX brought manned space travel from American soil back. Prior to June, the U.S. hadnโt launched a manned flight since the old shuttle in 2011. โItโs great to be back launching here.โThe crew will spend about 24 more hours maneuvering to dock at the International Space Station.

SpaceX, Boeing team up for satellite launch
SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket, carrying a $161 million satellite built by Boeing, took off from Cape Canaveral at about 7:20 pm ET. A rocket launch on Tuesday evening marked one such occasion: SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket, carrying a $161 million satellite built by Boeing, took off from Cape Canaveral at about 7:20 pm ET. Boeing built the satellite, called Amos-17, for an Israeli firm called Spacecom. And though Boeing is half-owner of a prestigious rocket company, United Launch Alliance, Spacecom turned to competitor SpaceX to fire Amos-17 into orbit. Satellites built by Boeing do launch on ULA rockets, but they're also compatible with SpaceX's cheaper Falcon 9 and rockets built by European competitor Arianespace.
