Punky
Age: 10 weeks old and was raised as a bottle baby from day one.
Breed: Hound and Bully mix…and some other things thrown in
Spunky Punky has NO fear and likes to run with the big dogs at the rescue as if she’s just as big as them. She will bark, growl, and be an overall menace to even our huge Great Danes. She really has a zesty personality that will keep you entertained. When she’s not being a total menace baby that she normally is, she’s a snuggle butt that likes the air conditioning and all the belly rubs. She’s what we call “pre-spoiled.”
Punky is the only survivor of a litter of 10 that mama didn’t want to take care of and even though Heather worked around the clock to get them all going, all but Punky didn’t make it.
Punky gets along with all the dogs at the rescue, doesn’t bother the horses or other animals, and sleeps all night with Heather in bed. She isn’t house trained yet, but that’s because she’s just too young to hold it for long periods of time.
Louie
Age: 11 months
Breed: Bully mix to the max
For the first time in his life, Louie is living the life he deserves, well until he finds his forever home. He’s learning that he can have fun, eat regularly, and just be a dog. He’s been neglected, abused, and even attacked by a pack of 5 dogs, but he is one of the sweetest and most outgoing boys out there. He loves to play with other dogs, sleep in the AC, and his sploot game is impressive.
Louie deserves a home where he can be treated like a king, never be tied outside, mistreated, or hungry like his first months of his life. He’s house, leash, and crate trained already. Fully vetted with his neuter and even a microchip!
South Georgia Equine Rescue was established to help horses in need of a place to heal, but over time it has grown for many different species to find a safe haven. Dogs and puppies have been the rescue’s biggest in take in the last five years, and it doesn’t seem to be letting up. South Georgia Equine Rescue provides a loving environment where the animals are free to be themselves while healing their physical and mental wounds that have been inflicted by humans that have failed them. The rescue survives off donations, a few grants, and even fewer fundraisers to keep the bellies full and the lights on. The animal overpopulation continues to grow due to lack of education on spaying and neutering of pets as well as back yard breeders selling puppies for profit.
To make a donation or if your looking to adopt an animal here is where you can reach out.
