JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating a drowning after a 2-year-old child was reported missing and later found in a body of water on Monday in the Jamestown neighborhood, according to officials.
Neighbors and family members had been searching for the child before the toddler was located near Elmar Road.
JSO has not confirmed what type of body of water the child was found in.
Jacksonville Fire and Rescue took the child to a hospital, and the child died, according to JSO.
