JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Tonight will be partly cloudy and warm with temperatures in the 70s.
Sunday will feature a partly to mostly cloudy sky with highs in the mid to upper 80s.
Make sure to keep an eye to the sky and storms could develop rapidly. Activity will eventually dissipate later in the evening.
An upper-level area of low pressure will move across our area today and will push into the Gulf on Sunday. This will push in more tropical moisture into our area for the second half of the weekend into next week. Look for increasing rain and storm coverage next week with highs in the mid to upper 80s.
Regarding the drought, the latest drought monitor reflects substantial improvement across our area. Several areas have been downgraded to abnormally dry which reflects the rainfall we saw over the past week.
While we are still in a deficit, rainfall will once again lead to more improvement in the next outlook.
