JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Tonight will be mostly cloudy and warm with temperatures in the 70s.
Sunday will feature a partly to mostly cloudy sky with highs near 90 degrees. Scattered showers and storms are possible in the afternoon and evening.
Make sure to keep an eye to the sky and storms could develop rapidly. Activity will eventually dissipate later in the evening.
Isolated instances of flooding will be possible. Especially for areas that see several rounds of showers and storms.
A front will cross our area early next week. Ahead of the front it will be hot and humid with temperatures in the near 90 degrees. Showers and storms are likely on Monday and Tuesday.
Behind the front there will be a northeasterly flow which will briefly usher in drier air by the middle of the week. It will turn breezy behind the front as well, especially along the coast.
Regarding the drought, the latest drought monitor reflects substantial improvement across our area. Several areas have been downgraded to abnormally dry which reflects the rainfall we saw over the past week.
While we are still in a deficit, rainfall will once again lead to more improvement in the next outlook.
